A professional cleaner usually takes 35 to 45 minutes to clean a full bathroom on a regular visit, and 55 to 70 minutes for a deep clean. A powder room takes as little as 15 minutes, while a large ensuite can take up to 90 minutes.

Bathroom cleaning times

Bathroom type Standard clean Deep clean
Powder room (half bath) 15–20 min 25–30 min
Full bathroom (tub/shower combo) 35–45 min 55–70 min
Ensuite (separate shower and tub) 45–60 min 70–90 min

What adds time

  • Glass shower doors: add 10–15 minutes
  • Marble or natural stone: add about 10 minutes, since it needs gentler products
  • Extra sinks: add 5–10 minutes per sink
  • Jetted tubs: add 15–20 minutes if the jets need cleaning
  • Heavy soap scum, hard-water stains or mildew in grout

Why a deep clean takes longer

A standard clean covers the toilet, sink, mirror, tub or shower and floor. A deep clean adds scrubbing grout, descaling faucets and shower heads, wiping cabinet fronts and baseboards, and cleaning behind the toilet. That detail is where most of the extra time goes.

Is a fast clean a bad sign?

Not always. Experienced cleaners work in a set order and use products that work quickly. But if a full bathroom is done in under 20 minutes, the grout, fixtures and toilet base are probably being skipped.
